How do we care for their hair?
The hair on our cavachon's is very, very soft and very easy to care for. It doesn't tangle easy and brushing keeps it looking great. I recommend the puppy cut if you want to keep it short, and usually a couple times a year it will need to be cut, depending on how you prefer the hair kept. They have wonderful fluffy hair that is a very beautiful and easy to maintain. I like the hair long as I like to put in bows and fix their hair in cute hair do's. We have families that have allergies and have done well with their cavachons, without any problems.
Is it best to get a boy or girl?
Both are equally sweet and loving. Those that have adopted boys and those that have adopted girls feel the same way and think their cavachon is the best. From my experience and keeping in touch with my adoptive families, I find no difference in boy or girl and advise you to pick the puppy that you fall in love with. That always seems to work best.
What size are they as adults?
Our puppies as adults will be around 10-15 pounds.
Are your puppies first generation?
We breed only first generation, from purebred Bichon Frise and King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Those two breeds are a wonderful combination. We were breeding both breeds as a purebred breed before making the choice to breed these wonderful breeds together and breed our cavachon's. We have been delighted with the results, and are just thrilled with our choice. Having bred them as separate purebred dogs we knew the qualities that both breeds had to offer.

We do personality own all of our parent dogs, all of our puppies are bred and raised by us. We only sell puppies that we personality have bred and raised, we never sell puppies for anyone else.

Yes, flying your puppy home to you is very safe and doesn't harm the puppy at all. They received attention and are wagging their tails and happy to meet their new adopted family when they arrive. We have flown puppies safely to their new homes for many years. Some have reported that the airline personnel had the puppies out of their crate and were holding them when they arrived. Who could resist? Your puppy will fly home in an airline approved crate which you will keep for use at home.

It is wonderful to have a well trained dog and it is great for bonding and a real pleasure to watch your dog learn commands and tricks. All dogs deserve to be trained and we strongly recommend it if possible. We also have a graduation page on our web site to honor our puppies that go to school. We hope to have many more featured on the site. Our cavachon's are very smart and a joy and easy to train.
Should we keep in touch with you after our puppy comes home with us?
Yes, we really appreciate hearing from our adopted families about how the puppies are doing in their new homes. I keep in touch with families and am interested in my puppies for their whole life. That is something that is very important and I want to receive pictures and news about my puppies and be kept informed of their progress. It is one of the condition of the adoption that I will be kept informed. It is also a lot of fun to write and hear from families on how they are doing and how the new family member is doing. I have made lifetime friendships with my adopted families and that is a blessing to me.
Where are you located?
We are near Bloomington Indiana.
How long have you been breeding dogs?
I have always had dogs as a child and so has my husband, when my husband and I met I had a German Shepherd and Ben had a Beagle. I have been breeding dogs since 1973. Ben and I bred and showed German Shepherds as our first purebred dog. In 1988 I bought my first Bichon Frise her name was Charmin, and I have owned Bichon's ever since. We bred purebred Bichon's for 20 years and then I learned about the cavachon, the cavachon has the sweet happy personality of the Bichon and the gentleness and sweetness of the Cavalier. It is a wonderful cross. I am very proud to be a professional dog breeder, it has brought me much joy and I am fortunate to be able to do what I love to do. I have received many thankful letters and it is great to make lasting friendships with those who now own our puppies. I love what I do, I really enjoy it.
