Hello Everyone, I found this Cavachon web page by accident one cold winter night about a week before Christmas 2007. I was just exploring the internet looking at puppies for sale. I had just had my favorite dog (that I had ever had) pass away in August 2007. She was 16 years old and she died of old age, I had to have her put down by my vet, and I had mixed feelings about even having another pet again...I did write down a few phone contacts about a few pups I had found and turned off the computer for the night...
A few days later I was back on to puppy searching just to look, as 4 months had passed since my other dog passed away, I called few of the online ads and they didn't appeal much to me. but I looked online one more time and then found Vicki's Cavachonpuppies.com web page by accident. Oh, I wanted a Cavachon, I had no idea how to pronounce the name cavachon but I was in love with the Cavachon breed. I read and researched some information about the Cavachon breed, I am a Cancer survivor and have fibromyalgia and suffer with a chronic back pain condition, divorced female and I live alone so I thought, No, I can't do this....But I wrote down the information from Vicki's Cavachon web site in Bloomington, Indiana and then cried about an hour and prayed through the night and went back on line the next morning at 5am to see if I just had a dream about these Cavachon Puppies for sale....It was not a dream, so I called Vicki the Cavachon Breeder in Bloomington and she was so great with all the information, and I knew she cared about where she places her Cavachon pups. I told her I would think about it for a few days.
Finally after chatting with Vicki over the phone and emails, I ask her to send me the pictures of the available cavachon girls via email......and I chose my little Chloe....It was Christmas week and Vicki told me that the puppy would be ready to pick up by mid January 2008. I was so excited, but nervous...as I have these health issues and live alone in an small apartment. My son and daughter-in-law have tried to get me to have another puppy for about the last 3 months and I just didn't want to deal with another dog, but I prayed again and emailed Vicki telling her which puppy that I wanted...Vicki saved her for me and on a cold day in January I went to pick up my 'Chloe" My son and daughter-in-law drove me to Bloomington and as we drove through the hills and woods of Bloomington area I had so many things going through my mind....with great excitement as if I were a child again, (and I a middle aged) but I was feeling like a child as my son drove us to Vicki's home. As we drove up and walked up to the door, Vicki was there at the door waiting with my little bundle of JOY...my little Cavachon...."Chole". I had some tears swell up in my eyes but I was too happy to even cry ....It was great!!!!!! Vicki had her puppy packet ready and a bag of puppy food ready for me...Vicki took our photo as we left that cold January day....You can tell she loves her job as a Cavachon breeder...Now the new journey and a fresh chapter in my life.....
I finally came home wth Chloe and bought her toys, blankies, and a toy box...she just adjusted immediately to her new home, the first night we were up about 3 times, but in a few days she slept through the night and mabey up once a night to potty...but she is a keeper and I know God gave her to me for a reason....we are perfect, even with my health issues we do very well!!
Chloe loves her puppy food that Vicki sent with us and I keep her on that as my vet says that is a very good food. But Chloe also loves toast and honey and yogurt, and sometimes we share a cheeseburger from McDonalds,..yes...McDonalds, but not very often!! She also likes chips and dip and her favorite is Tic Tack Mints,....I do not give her mounds of junk food and she knows her limits!! I eat a lot of fruit and veggies and she loves oranges and bananas and I just give her little bites and samples but she always knows to eat and loves her puppy food. She also likes pepsi, I have given her a few straws with pepsi, not much, but she loves it...she knows when I say, no more, that's it.....she is very well behaved...She gets only bottled water, but she is spoiled too, I can't resist that.....She is arnory at times, but a very good puppy...you have to work and train your puppy and cavachons learn very fast...she was easy to train...If you are looking for a new puppy, get a cavachon from Vicki in Bloomington, Indiana. She is honest and trust worthy, very helpful and most of all, she loves these dogs that she breeds.
Chloe is about 5 months old as I write my story and she does very well. The vet says she is the picture of health!!! Chloe loves everyone...all the neighbors, and my two little granddaughters just melt over her love! Every drive through we go, if it's CVS or the bank, they want to know all about her and info. on where I purchased Chloe. I even have people stop their cars at the state park where we walk and actually stop and want to have contact info. where she came from. In the town where we live, we have a car hop rootbeer/hot dog stand(where you are able to order food at your car and eat in your vehicles). Last week a lady actually put her food down and out of her car she came to our car to ask about Chloe, she petted her and we talked about Chloe and the cavachon breed and she wants a cavachon now! We have met so many neat people along our path as we venture out each day.
Chloe is very out going, loves everyone, and is always happy and loves to play....Very healthy, loves her bath's and since the warmer weather, we walk about 5 days a week about a mile each trip, which is good for me and her, even with my chronic health conditions, Chloe is great, she takes naps with me, and the days I need a little extra rest, she stays right next to me, but we stay as active as we can and with having my little Chloe, having her makes me feel better on my bad days and more young on my good days...We have so much fun together, and even the neighbor kids walk with us sometimes......
Chloe learned to shake hands in about 10 minutes and many other tricks very quickly, she is very easy to train and she is very brilliant....Cavachon's are known for fast learning. Chloe loves the outdoors and she plays hard in doors too, even in my small apartment we have a blast....Chloe is the most loving dog I have ever seen in my life....Chloe is so healthy, smart and has a lot of energy....she is a gift from God! So, I am blessed to have my Cavachon "Chloe" I thank Vicki for all she did for me to get Chloe home to me, Vicki follows up with you about every chance she gets to see how things are going...(There are not many breeders that do that) I am so thankful that I prayed and followed my heart to go ahead to get Chloe for me to love and for her to love me back so that we can enjoy life growing old together........
Thank-you for reading our story We have enjoyed sharing with you.
Teresa and Chloe
